Male Gen-X, Millennial Southeast Opps: Truist experiences CMO vacancy as it launches first TV ads (Score 68)


The new bank formed by the merger of Prudential Financial, where she will serve in the same position. Johnson was appointed CMO of Truist in December of 2019 after serving in the same role with SunTrust for about five years. Watch this company closely for a replacement, as a new CMO may alter both the company's agency roster and marketing strategy. 

According to iSpot, Truist began airing national TV ads this month, and has already spent around $3.9m. It placed ads during programming such as "NFL Football," "NHL Hockey," "College Football," "Celebrity Family Feud" and "NFL Kickoff 2020." 

Per Magellan, the company has placed 15 podcast ads so far. 

Adbeat reports the company has only spent $194 on digital display ads since venturing into this channel in mid-August 2020. It placed 96% of these as video ads through "Other" onto atlantafalcons.com. It placed 4% of these ads programmatically through Google Display Network onto ramblinwreck.com and bizjournals.com. 

Sellers-- Truist seems to mainly be targeting Gen-X and millennial men as it placed during programming and onto sites popular among them. SunTrust and BB&T also invested in local marketing methods such as OOH, print and radio ads, per Kantar.
