Digital Opps: Mediacom Cable rolling out faster Internet service after consolidating digital media account

We've learned that Mediacom recently consolidated residential and commercial digital planning and buying with New York-based Flynn Wright still handles traditional buying and creative. 

An advantage will go to sellers at sites popular with people in moving mode, when they're more likely to consider switching their cable and Internet provider.

Media Spend: $5.4 million went to measured media through the third quarter last year, most of which supported spot TV ads, according to Kantar Media.

Digital Breakdown: Since 2015, Mediacom has spent about $504,000 annually for 120-140 million impressions, Pathmatics reports. The bulk of spending, at least 75% annually, has gone to desktop ads. Most of the remainder supports mobile ads. 

However, for the last 12 months, more than half of impressions have flowed through Google. About 40% of impressions are still bought direct, but that's down from almost 60% In 2015. 

Top targeted sites the last year include youtube.com, amazon.com, rent.com, apartmentguide.com, accuweather.com and Zillow's namesake sake and trulia.com.
