B2B Media Opps: United Natural Foods taps chief digital & transformation officer (Score 21)
Foods (UNF) assigned its newly-created chief digital and transformation officer role to Louis Martin, the former global president of Coca-Cola's Walmart/Sam's Club customer team. He will oversee a digital transformation and accelerate UNF's eCommerce plan, so keep it on your radar.
Right now, the company is focused on executing and evolving Fuel the Future, a new strategic initiative it debuted in June. The plan will hopefully revamp and update UNF's distribution, custom experience and approach to tech, which includes eCommerce. The company is looking to generate digital revenue, reportedly.
In 2021, Adbeat reports UNF spent roughly $2.5k on digital display, only around a sixth of the roughly $14.2k it spent in 2020. Last year's spend went toward programmatic ads placed via Google Display Network onto supermarketnews.com.
UNF tends to invest the most in B2B advertising, but digital display spend is still down. According to Kantar data, the company also invests in print (B2B magazines) and OOH. Sellers should get in touch soon if able to offer relevant ad space.
