Gen-X, Boomer Opps: LHC Group to be acquired for $5.4b (Score 60)
that it will soon be acquired by the largest US health insurer, UnitedHealth Group. UnitedHealth is looking to expand its home health services. This deal, worth around $5.4b, will combine UnitedHealth's Optum unit, which manages drug benefits and provides healthcare data analytics services, with LHC's healthcare services at home, largely designed for older patients dealing with chronic illness and injuries.
At-home healthcare has surged in popularity when compared to clinic-based care during the pandemic since it's been so much safer.
LHC tends to target Gen-X and boomers; it will hopefully start advertising more heavily post-acquisition. Kantar data reports the company utilizes OOH (primarily) and print (secondarily).
