So far this year, Pathmatics estimates CE has generated 39.8m digital impressions, allocating $460.7k toward desktop video ads (primarily on YouTube - 63%), Facebook ads (27%), desktop display ads (8%) and Twitter ads (2%). This YTD spend marks a slight (2%) increase from the $451.1k spent by this point last year; CE's full 2019 spend grew by nearly 3x to $640.2k from $242.6k in 2018.

CE's execs want to promote a "vision of providing sustainable and reliable renewable energy for the people of MI," so we expect the company is especially focused on localized ad dollars in and around the state. Its focus on sustainability and usage of YouTube and Facebook ads leads us to believe it's primarily targeting Gen-Z and millennial homeowners. It also targets small businesses in need of electric and natural gas services. Kantar data reports CE also utilizes OOH, print (B2B magazines) and local broadcast, but as of Q1 2020 hasn't invested in radio since 2019.
