Wingstop promotes president & COO to replaced departed CEO (Score 20)

According to Pathmatics, Wingstop earned 376m impressions YTD through Facebook ads (51%), Instagram ads (28%), Twitter ads (17%), desktop video ads (3%) and desktop display ads (1%). It placed 100% of these ads site direct onto sites such as facebook.com, instagram.com, twitter.com, youtube.com and zillow.com. It spent around $2.9m on digital display ads YTD, a slight decrease from $3m spent in this channel during the same time period of 2021. Full-year spend increased by 44% from $14.1m in 2020 to $20.3m in 2021. 

Per iSpot, Wingstop spent around $5.3m on national TV ads YTD, a significant increase from $1.5m spent in this channel during the same time period of 2021. Full-year spend jumped 43% from $19.6m in 2020 to $28m in 2021. This year, it placed ads during programming such as "NBA Basketball," "NFL Football," "Monday Night Kickoff," "FOX NFL Sunday" and "Exatlon Estados Unidos." 

Sellers-- Wingstop mainly targets Gen-Zers and millennials with a male skew. Its late hours make it particularly popular among Gen-Z college students. The wing chain reaches these demographics through digital display and national TV Ads. It increased spend significantly across both channels last year, and it has continued ramping TV spend up so far this year. It also invests in OOH, print, radio and local broadcast TV ads, per Kantar.
