Told Ya!, Campaign Imminent: Neato Robotics taps full-service AOR after naming marketing leader

After appointing marketing head Howard Leyda Aisle Rocket as its AOR to drive revenue via digital, paid media and innovative e-Commerce solutions. Services will include the following: data and technology (targeted media and analytics); paid media execution (online and offline for a "true" omni-channel strategy); creative services (content, video and storytelling); and e-Commerce (optimization for every stage of the funnel).

This shift will support NB's expansion into vital (though unnamed) new markets, as well as the upcoming launches of its Neato D8, D9 and D10 products (announcement in video above).

According to iSpot, the company hasn't invested in national TV since spending around $143.5k in 2016.

Similarly, Adbeat reports NB only allocated an estimated $1.1k toward digital display ad spend from September 2019-2020 (specifically in February-March), a sliver of the estimated $22.8k allocated from September 2018-2019. Most of its overall spend went toward ads placed site direct ($16.5k) onto today.com ($13.9k) and pcmag.com.

Despite these spend drops, the company could return to these channels with upcoming work from its new AOR. It consumer goods are available on its site and via both retail and e-retail distribution partners. NB's target demographic primarily consists of male homeowners, along with business DMs with offices to clean; many consumers and businesses alike are spending much more on cleaning product such as NB's robotic vacuums to keep their physical spaces as free of COVID-19 risk as possible. The company's main competitor is the Roborock S4. Experts expect the global cleaning robots market to reach $2663.2 million by 2024, up 32% from $2013.6 million in 2019.

Agency & martech readers - NB's work is tied up for now, so prospect elsewhere for more immediate opportunities.
