Campaign Imminent: Safari Club International taps PR/digital AOR amid spend decreases (Score 52)
Source Outdoor Group its endemic marketing and communications AOR; the agency will leverage media outreach, digital publicity tactics, content placement and strategic marketing to maximize SCI's growth among both hunters and non-hunters.
SCI protects the freedom to hunt while promoting wildlife conservation. Just over a year has passed since it appointed CEO Laird Hamberlin, who previously served as commercial SVP at PODS, in April 2019.
Additionally, SCI recently announced a sponsorship with Kristy Titus's Pursue the Wild, which will allow SCI to better promote its conservation efforts via Titus's brand ambassador assistance.
Earlier this month, the US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit upheld the US Fish and Wildlife Service's new case-by-case permitting policy for endangered and threatened wildlife importation. This concludes six years of litigation efforts arguing that the FWS is not necessary to use country-wide findings. This case-by-case process allows SCI's import permits to be determined without disruptions such as unreasonable and unsubstantiated legal challenges. With these obstacles out of the way, it's likely the SCI will begin advertising more actively.
According to Adbeat, the only times the organization has utilized digital display were when it spent an estimated $25 in August 2019 and $77 in October 2018. This spend went toward programmatic ads placed via Google Display Network ($86) and Other Networks ($16). Google Display Network placed ads onto cooktopcove.com ($52), columbiatribune.com and winteriscoming.net; Other Networks did so onto huffingtonpost.com.au ($8), macmillandictionary.com and chroniclelive.co.uk.
Despite this scarce usage, SCI will probably return to digital display under a new marketing AOR, especially since the agency will handle its digital remit. Its target demographic consists of men of all ages, especially hunters.
Agency & martech readers - It seems like Source will handle PR and digital; since reviews often follow one another, reach out soon for potential creative and/or media work.
