BurgerFi taps PR AOR following CMO departure (Score 62)

relations, influencer programming and strategic & crisis communications. It will also provide thought leadership, handle company announcements and promote new menu offerings. BurgerFi's former CMO, Henry Gonzalez, left the company in December 2021 for Dine Brands Global, where he is now the head of international marketing. Following Gonzalez's departure, BurgerFi hired Nadia Cronk as marketing SVP. This leads me to believe Cronk is now the company's top marketer.

According to Pathmatics, BurgerFi earned 42.9m impressions YTD through desktop video ads (58%), Instagram ads (26%) and Facebook ads (16%). It placed 100% of these ads directly onto sites such as youtube.com, instagram.com and facebook.com. It spent around $502k on digital display ads YTD, a 23% decrease from $654.5k spent in this channel during the same time period of 2021. Full-year spend skyrocketed from $374.4k in 2020 to $1.4m in 2021.

Sellers-- BurgerFi's premium fast-casual restaurants appeal to Gen-Zers and millennials. The company targets these demographics through a digital-first marketing strategy. BurgerFi started ramping up digital spend in 2021, but it has cut back so far this year. The chain may be experimenting with its marketing budget and could have overshot in 2021, which would explain why it has decreased spend YTD. You can view BurgerFi's locations here to see where you may be able to offer local ad space. Sellers should also reach out to offer digital ad space.

Agency & martech readers-- In addition to rbb Communications, BurgerFi works with creative AOR Investis Digital, which takes care of media, digital and social media. As you know, agency appointments commonly follow one another, so I advise readers to contact BurgerFi's DMs to see if it plans on reviewing either of these accounts. Those of you with premium fast-casual restaurant experience will likely have an advantage.
