Campaign Imminent: Hoka One One partners with PR AOR


DKC, Hoka's lifestyle and fitness AOR, to create PR campaigns for Hoka's current and potential customer base. 

There is no word of when a new campaign will drop, but Outdoor Retailer (late July), so make sure you reach out before then. Their top spending period is Q3, and their target demo is athletic, health-focused peoples. 

Digital is the biggest focus of the brand and will remain so, according to CEO David Powers in the latest earnings call. Even so, there is some TV spend, according to iSpot. While nothing has been spent so far this year, 2017 national TV spend was $46,111. One spot - "Sweet Cushion" - aired solely during "Triathlon" on NBC and NBC Sports late in the year (actually, it only aired three times).

Pathmatics reports a year-to-date digital spend of $85,200. Full 2017 spend was $937,600, up from $546,300 spent in 2016 (71% increase). Ads are primarily placed site direct on runnersworld.com, athletic.net, milesplit.com, flotrack.org and active.com. 

Agency readers - Deckers tends to lean heavily on PR efforts to raise brand awareness across its portfolio, especially for its smaller brands. However, once PR efforts have raised awareness to a certain level, brands tend to turn to other agencies for further marketing assistance. Those with athlete and health category experience should be on the lookout for a potential creative and/or digital review next year.
