Campaign Imminent: Whittier Trust hires creative AOR to create new vision (Score 28)
Wealth management and investment firm Perceptiv. The independent agency will help Whittier create "a new vision," as well as oversee creative concepts & campaign development, digital/social strategy & content and print collateral.
We don't know when we'll see a new campaign from the agency, but sellers should reach out to remain top-of-mind. Whittier doesn't have a top spending period, instead spending highly throughout the year. It typically targets Gen-X and boomers, but the "new vision" may see it age down its demographic towards millennials.
Kantar reports Whittier spent $1m on measured media in 2018. We expect this number to increase in 2019 as Yes Design and newly-hired marketing associate Nicole Hale (April) spread their influence.
Note that in addition to digital, social and print, Whittier typically uses earned media. It especially likes to write articles for Forbes, having published quiet a few articles on the platform in the last few months (example).
Adbeat reports Whittier Trust only used digital display from May 2018 to September 2018, when it spent $1.3k on ads placed via Google (100%) onto sites like cambridge.org, reference.com, urbandictionary.com, dictionary.com and calculatorsoup.com.
Agency & martech readers -- MediaPost reports Yes Design will work alongside media planning AOR Media Matters, but since reviews tend to follow one another, Media Matters' account is jeopardy and you should reach out. At the very least, reach out for media buying work since no one handles that account for Whittier. Focus pitches on using Whittier's independent status and its 30-year history to help it stay top-of-mind amid other investment firms like Fidelity Investments, Charles Schwab and Betterment.
