Score 80 - Account in Jeopardy: American Family Care taps new CMO amid expansion plans


American Family Care (AFC) welcomes its first, CMO Kurt Hurley, who brings 15 years of executive marketing experience, Franchising reports. Hurley stated he will focus on expanding the brand to 500 clinics within the next five years. Founder and CEO Dr. Bruce Irwin, MD hopes to utilize Hurley's digital skills and experience with franchise brands to assist the expansion. He began the new position in June.

Hurley has experience succeeding revenue goals in short time frames. He has employed social media and e-Commerce channels to promote product launches and lead business growth. Given the company's usual reached demographic, Gen X, AFC might be trying to age down its clientele as it expands and pushes digital platforms.

We haven't seen any activity in digital display for AFC since November 2018, when it spent about half a grand ($540) on programmatically-placed ads through Google onto wbrc.com. As the company continues to expand, we should see increases in spend. 

AFC has not placed national TV ads any time recently, according to iSpot. However, the company has been active on Instagram since Q4 2016. Their posts have evolved from home-made stunts and 2-D graphic emblems to professional photos, videos and, well, more appealing graphics than before.

Sellers -- Prepare digital space for the company as they may aim to place more ads via digital display with their ambitious expansion plans. It wouldn't hurt to ask about national TV, either, since that could help them get in front of Gen X households and families. Currently, they house 212 locations primarily along the East coast, as well as scattered throughout the West. Sellers in these areas may have the upper hand. See locations here.
