Digital B2B Opps: Volvo Trucks appoints lead agency (Score 22)

Volvo Trucks (VT) named Baldwin& its lead agency partner. The agency will now be responsible for all strategic advertising and marketing duties. This is an extension of Baldwin&'s existing duties, as VT named the agency its social media AOR in 2021. VT preferred to work with multiple shops in the past, so there is no incumbent agency.

According to Pathmatics, VT earned 3.2m impressions YTD through Facebook ads (71%) and Instagram ads (29%). It placed 100% of these ads directly onto facebook.com and instagram.com. It spent around $26.1k on digital display ads YTD, just 31% of the $83.8k spent in this channel during the same time period of 2021. Full-year spend increased by 64% from $76k in 2020 to $125k in 2021.

Sellers-- VT's vehicles most likely appeal to supply chain and transport businesses. It currently allocates the majority of its marketing budget toward digital display ads, with a heavy focus on social media. While YTD spend is much lower than the amount it spent during the same time period of 2021, I predict it will increase spend soon now that it has a new agency partner. Sellers should reach out to offer ad space.

Agency & martech readers-- To the best of my knowledge, VT also works with PR shop WE Communications and digital team Union. Creative and social media are likely locked down for the time being. However, agency reviews commonly follow one another, so reach out to see if this company needs any of your services. Those of you with trucking or transportation experience may have an advantage.
