Digital Education Opps: Promethean hires marketing chief (Score 50)

Promethean hired Jennifer Foreman as CMO, effective May 2022. Foreman most recently served as the SVP and global head of growth marketing of Trax Retail. She brings CMO experience from her time leading marketing for Denovo Ventures. In her new role, Foreman will be responsible for all marketing operations, community relations, partnerships, growth and sales. Promethean offers education technology and software. 

According to Pathmatics, Promethean earned 1.9m impressions YTD through desktop display ads (79%), Twitter ads (19%) and mobile display ads (2%). It placed the majority (98%) of these ads directly onto sites such as smarter.com, twitter.com, pcworld.com, indianexpress.com and synonym.com. It placed the remainder (2%) indirectly through Google AdX+AdSense and Criteo onto sites such as yahoo.com, internet4classrooms.com, abcteach.com, results.indiaresults.com and reference.com. It spent around $19.9k on digital display ads YTD, a considerable jump from $1.1k spent in this channel during the same time period of 2021. Full-year spend increased from $900 in 2020 to $9.7k in 2021. 

Sellers-- Promethean's software and technology appeal to schools and other educational institutions. It started investing in digital display ads in 2020, and it has been increasing spend ever since. I predict this trend will continue, especially considering it just hired a new CMO. Furthermore, Foreman will likely experiment with some new channels.
