B2B, Digital Opps: HubSpot appoints chief customer officer (Score 49)

HubSpot named Rob Giglio chief customer officer in March 2022. Giglio brings CMO experience from his most recent position on as DocuSign's marketing leader. He was Adobe's SVP of go-to-market strategy and sales prior to that. As HubSpot's CCO, Giglio will serve on the executive leadership team and manage sales, services, revenue and marketing. He has also been tasked with improving HubSpot's go-to-market strategy and the customer experience.

According to Pathmatics, HubSpot earned 384.9m impressions YTD through Facebook ads (55%), Instagram ads (42%), desktop display ads (2%) and mobile display ads (1%). It placed 100% of these ads site direct onto sites such as facebook.com, instagram.com, fastcompany.com, fastcodesign.com and fastcoexist.com. It spent approximately $3.3m on digital display ads YTD, an 18% increase from $2.8m spent in this channel during the same time period of 2021. Full-year spend equaled $13.1m in 2020 and $13.8m in 2021.

Magellan reports HubSpot placed around 1k podcast ads over the last 365 days.

Sellers-- HubSpot targets businesses that need help growing through digital display ads. The company increased digital spend slightly in 2021, and it has been adding dollars to this channel so far this year. The new CCO has CMO experience, so he will likely have an impact on the marketing strategy. Start reaching out for more information to see what types of ad space you may be able to provide.

Agency & martech readers-- I do not think that HubSpot is currently working with any agency partners. It is most likely capable of handling most marketing duties in-house, but the new CCO may decide to outsource some work. Get in touch soon to be top-of-mind. Those of you with business-to-business experience may have an advantage.
