B2B Media Opps: Latch taps first CMO after raising post-IPO equity (Score 69)

Effective July, Justina Omokhua joined keyless entry security system brand Latch as its first CMO. Omokhua joined the company from Endeavor, where she served as brand marketing SVP for just over two years. Her appointment shows that Latch is starting to focus more on advertising, so sellers should get in touch soon to Latch onto some ad dollars.

Earlier in July, Latch also appointed Judy Matz as lifestyle marketing VP.

This appointment occurred around a month after Latch raised $190m in post-IPO equity, according to Crunchbase.

According to Adbeat, the company hasn't invested much in digital display since May 2021. From September 2020-September 2021, Latch has spent roughly $7.2k on this channel, down significantly from the roughly $24.6k it spent from September 2019-September 2020. The past year's spend has gone towards ads placed onto therealdeal.com (58%), aia.org and multihousingnews.com.

In the past, Latch has primarily targeted businesses such as apartment complexes, but it recently also expanded into providing services for commercial office spaces. The company's spend will hopefully pick back up soon now that it has a new CMO. Sellers able to offer high-ROI B2B strategies should contact soon, as I briefly mentioned.

Agency & martech readers - As you know, CMO hires often lead to agency reviews; I suggest you get in touch to see what, if any, partnerships are possible under Omokhua's leadership.
