Parents Media Opps: Getaway taps first CXO (Score 74)

Getaway (no, not Getaway Green) selected Carlos Becil as its first CXO in July. Becil previously served on the company's board and brings expertise from having served as the CMO at Coach and Equinox over the years. CXOs often affect marketing efforts, so especially considering Becil's marketing background, I expect his hire will lead to strategy shifts.

The company also hired brand marketing manager Milana Baker in April.

It's additionally been less than a year since Getaway landed a $41.7m Series C funding round at the beginning of 2021. According to Crunchbase, the company has raised $81.8m in funding so far.

Getaway has cabins nestled in nature to provide people with a, well, getaway. Not only is it a hospitality company, it's branded as a wellness company due to the health-related rest it offers customers. It probably targets parents primarily. The company currently operates 12 outposts around NY, Boston, DC, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, LA, Houston, Austin, Dallas, Charlotte, Atlanta and Portland.
