Male Media Opps: Maverick Gaming taps first CMO amid expansion plans (Score 72)

Maverick Gaming, a gambling and casino group, appointed Jeremy Weinstein as its seemingly first CMO in April 2021. In his most recent role as a regional marketing VP for Caesars, Weinstein developed, executed and led local marketing strategy and operations. With a background in casino marketing, Weinstein is well-suited for this new position.

Less than a year has passed since Maverick also selected Martin Lee as its new marketing director in August 2020. Since these hires signal a stronger focus on marketing, which makes sense as people start visiting casinos again post-COVID, Maverick will likely start investing in more national advertising channels under the leadership of these new DMs.

Maverick has reportedly become the latest casino controller to add digital payment options at its venues, which makes it safer (as far as the pandemic is concerned) than many competitors. The company is also seeking to expand its sports betting service outside of WA, which is where it's headquartered.

Neither iSpot, Pathmatics nor Magellan yet reflect national ad spend data for Maverick; however, this will likely change now that it has new marketing leaders and expansion plans. For now, I expect you'll have the best luck offering local ad space in the NW and SW, around Maverick's physical locations in the PNW and in NV. Remember, it primarily operates as a casino chain and online games but is also building its sports betting services. This signals a male-skewed target demographic.
