Health & Fitness Opps: True Fitness acquires Octane Fitness

True Fitness Technology (TFT) acquired Octane Fitness from Nautilus, Inc. for $25m. TFT believes this acquisition will improve its product offerings and help the company grow. TFT produces home and commercial fitness machines and equipment such as treadmills, ellipticals, bikes and weights. Its products are available through select retailers and its online eCommerce platform

Per iSpot, TFT has not aired a national TV ad since spending $3.5k in 2018 during "Tennis" on the Tennis Channel.

According to Adbeat, out of the $3.4k TFT spent on digital display ads since October 2018, it spent 100% before October 2019. It placed 100% of these ads programmatically through Google Display Network onto sites such as missyusa.com, eatingwell.com, newsthump.com and footballscoop.com.

Sellers-- TFT has not been advertising much as of late as it has cut spending so far in 2020. It seems to spend more in Q4 as consumers are more likely to buy exercise equipment around the holidays as gifts and for new year's resolutions. Sellers should reach out to see what types of ad space they can provide.

Agency & martech readers-- We do not believe TFT to be working with any agencies at this time. It could not hurt to reach out pitching your services. I recommend offering PR, communication and/or digital assistance.
