Gen-Z Media Opps: Vitaminwater releases "Nourish Every You" campaign


Vitaminwater just kicked off a campaign called "Nourish Every You." The push stars rapper Lil Nas X and is set to run until the fall. The campaign includes six spots that will be supported across OOH, digital, cinema, linear TV and social media. The brand is also launching its own TikTok channel. Per iSpot, Vitaminwater spent $798.7k on national TV ads YTD, a 15% decrease from $939k spent in this channel during the same time period of 2021. Full-year spend equaled $3.2m in 2021. It did not air any national TV ads in 2020. This year, it placed ads during programming such as American Dad, Friends, Bob's Burgers, King of the Hill and Family Guy

According to Pathmatics, Vitaminwater earned 334m impressions YTD through Twitter ads (51%), Instagram ads (28%), Facebook ads (16%), desktop video ads (4%) and desktop display ads (1%). It placed 100% of these ads directly onto sites such as twitter.com, instagram.com, facebook.com, youtube.com and imbd.com. It spent approximately $2.2m on digital display ads YTD, a 29% decrease from $3.1m spent in this channel during the same time period of 2021. Full-year spend skyrocketed from $909.7k in 2020 to $13.5m in 2021. 

Sellers-- Vitaminwater is targeting Gen-Zers through national TV and digital display ads. The brand significantly increased digital spend in 2021 and it resumed airing TV ads after a gap in 2020. YTD spend is down across both channels, but the brand just launched a campaign so spend should rise soon. It also invests in OOH and local broadcast TV ads, per Kantar.
