Campaign Imminent: Concord taps PR AOR to increase brand awareness, hires new DM (Score 74)


Milk & Honey as its first-ever PR AOR to handle general business media and promote announcements such as acquisitions and executive hires. Concord still has an in-house PR team as well; it will continue leading communications with music industry trade media. This hire concludes an RFP process that kicked off in April and ended in June. New work will likely launch soon, so sellers should contact soon to secure last-minute ad dollars. Additional agency reviews may also follow this shift.

This agency hire comes shortly after Concord implemented a major leadership shift. In May 2022, Alexandra Holder joined the company as its digital marketing VP, one of its top marketing roles. Holder most recently served as the director of digital marketing at Believe.

According to Pathmatics, Concord hasn't utilized digital channels since spending approximately $47.9k in 2020. In 2020, the company earned roughly 19.1m digital impressions via desktop display ads placed onto site destinations such as yahoo.com (69%), youtube.com, billboard.com, news.yahoo.com and finance.yahoo.com.

Holder's hire shows that Concord is starting to focus more on digital marketing, which means the company's digital spend will likely pick back up soon.  The company primarily targets artists and investors. In the past, its digital advertising has targeted older millennials and Gen-X, but its brand refresh efforts may lead its target demographic to skew younger in the future.
