Campaign Imminent: Wildlife Conservation Society switches media for Bronx Zoo, NY Aquarium after marketing hires (Score 68)

Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) promoted Meghann Kelley to director of marketing (brand CMO function), effective February. When she joined the the non-profit in February 2018 as senior marketing manager for the Bronx Zoo, she brought experience as an account supervisor for Pursuant.

WCS also promoted John Delaney to director of communications for the New York Aquarium, effective November. He spent the last 20 years overseeing communications for all of WCS as its assistant director of communications.

These two are likely to review WCS's agency roster, especially since they already reviewed media for the Bronx Zoo and New York Aquarium. They selected MediaPost.

Since Delaney and Kelley have hit the ground running, additional reviews are likely and agency readers should reach out. You can go after media at WCS's other brands (Central Park Zoo, Prospect Park Zoo and Queens Zoo) or creative across across the entire account. Competition will likely include Pentagram, which Winmo states handles creative. Focus pitches on differentiating WCS's brands from the vast number of other tourist attractions in New York City.

Keep in mind WCS relies primarily on local marketing, targeting those in the New York metropolitan area with digital, out-of-home, print, earned media, experiential, social and some TV. Spend has been increasing, and we can expect those increases to continue with the new personnel.

With spend increasing and likely to continue doing so, sellers should reach out to remain top-of-mind, too.
